Are You Prepared to Be a Disability Friendly Church?
Creating a safe place for those with disabilities in our church community can be challenging, especially if our church services are not prepared to welcome, include or accommodate families of members with disabilities.
A disability friendly church is a great platform to show the kindness, compassion and love of Jesus Christ. As a body of believers, we must approach those with disabilities in our congregation with acceptance, understanding, and tolerance, while showing a genuine interest in the families as a whole. Ultimately our goal is to create an environment that allows families and those with disabilities to feel a part of our local church and community.
Whatever is a social issue in the church becomes a social issue in the community. Disability awareness and training is an important tool and resource for church growth and cohesion.
